EcoShades: Our climate, our future - Training educators to ACT
In Dolj County, a new project funded within the Mindchangers’ subgranting action, started its activities on raising awareness and promoting youth engagement in addressing environmental challenges. EcoShades, which was officially launched on December 9th, 2022, is implemented during 01.11.2022 to 31.12.2023 by CEDRU Association – Center of Excellence for Human Resources Development, in partnership with the “Communities for Youth” Association – ACT, and “Henri Coanda” Theoretical High School in Craiova. The project’s target group consists of 10 teachers and 200 pupils aged between 16 and 19 from “Henri Coandă” Theoretical High School, as well as 200 members of the local community, partners, local authorities and mass-media, who will benefit directly or indirectly from the activities of the project.
Training course for educators
As part of the initial calendar of activities carried out within the EcoShades project, CEDRU organised a training course for teachers entitled “Recycling policies in the EU and Romania”, under the aegis of “Our climate, our future”. The course took place on Friday, January 27th, 2023, in the Erasmus Hall of “Henri Coandă” Theoretical High School and welcomed 12 teachers from the same educational institution.
The training course was delivered by Şerban Nagy from the “Communities for Youth” Association – ACT and addressed topics, such as: The Romanian National Strategy on Education for the Environment and Climate Change 2023-2023, the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the effects of climate change on the environment.
