Learn to Act: Learn to Recycle. Save the Waters.

Learn to Act is a project implemented by Asociația Dialoguri Europene with the financial support of the European Union, through the project Mindchangers: Regions and youth for Planet and People.

So far, volunteers from the association have conducted campaigns about the most important elements in climate education: Reduce – Reuse – Recycle – Rethink, and have worked together with 8th-grade students from Valea Stanciului (Dolj) in order to discover and develop a strategy to reduce waste and pollution. They shared valuable information about the selective collection and recycling of waste, training their younger colleagues to behave responsibly when it comes to selectively collecting waste or finding solutions for the reuse of products at hand (plastic caps from PET bottles, cardboard tubes from kitchen towels or toilet paper, tin containers, cans, cardboard boxes etc.).

The five volunteers have organized workshops aimed at developing imaginative and original solutions to the pressing problem of waste and pollution, thus transforming garbage into art pieces. The mission of the Ambassadors of Education for Recycling (AER) continued at the “Alexandru Macedonski” Technological High School in Melinești, where, together with the 10th-grade students, they organized workshops and Do it Yourself projects where they have managed to create decorative objects (paintings), accessories (bags), jewelry boxes, accessories for office and many other interesting objects. The campaign took place in June, 2022 – a month when we also celebrate Danube’s International Day.
