Mindchangers goes Berlin!

25 young Mindchangers from the region Baden-Württemberg were invited by Rudi Hoogvliet, State Secretary for Media Policy and Plenipotentiary of the State of Baden-Württemberg to the Federal Government, to a visit of the Baden-Württemberg State Representation in Berlin.

From October 16th to October 19th, young people from seven Mindchangers projects represented their engagement in Berlin while exploring the focal points for politics in Germany and deepening their capabilities on the cooperation between local authorities, governments, and civil societies for youth engagement and migration against the impacts of climate change.

The agenda for the four-day visit started with a city tour through Berlin with political landmarks and the most influential historical spots. Within the next days, the group visited the national parliament of the Federal Government in Germany and the Federal Council.

One of the most inspirational aspects of the visit was the exchange between Mindchangers and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development on the inclusion of young people in the discourse, as well as the dinner and welcome at the State Representation in Berlin with Andreas Schulze, Head of Service of the State Representation, symbolizing the significance of youth engagement in Baden-Württemberg to Baden-Württemberg.

This journey was not only significant in the sense of informative knowledge exchange, but most importantly another great opportunity for engaged young people of Mindchangers to come together, learn from each other’s projects, and understand how essential and influential their impact is.

We are activist against climate change, we are migrant, we are diasporic, we are diverse and colorful – and above all, we are intersectional.

Every single one fights for his or her own topics – but in the end we all stand together for solidarity and justice.
