Ten new Mindchangers projects supported in Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles!

The past year has been rich in events and activities for Mindchangers. The 10 granted projects of the first Mindchangers call for proposals were successfully implemented by associations, municipalities and young people in Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, while a second call for proposals was launched in the spring.

As we enter the year 2023, the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles is pleased to announce the awarded projects of the second and last Mindchangers’ call for proposals! Like their predecessors, these 10 new projects follow a partnership and co-construction approach, creating bridges between associations, local authorities and young people in order to encourage the active participation of young people aged 15 to 35.

Throughout the year and thanks to these projects, a wide range of activities and events will be organised all over Brussels and Wallonia, and revolving around the Mindchangers’ key themes – Sustainable Development Goals, international solidarity, climate and migration. And so, from the creation of an escape game to the production of podcasts, not forgetting artistic workshops and environmental volunteering actions, 2023 will certainly be a year of engagement!

As the beginning of a new year is traditionally a good time to take stock and look back, here is an overview of Mindchangers’ achievements in 2022:

  • 10 projects financed in Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, implemented by 45 associations and 3 municipalities, and reaching more than 6.000 young people.
  • An awareness-raising event organised during the Esperanzah! festival, with the active participation of granted associations and their youths. For two days, they led workshops and activities together on the SDGs, becoming real Mindchangers ambassadors.
  • An International Youth Meeting in Turin (Italy), which saw the enthusiastic participation of young Mindchangers from Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles to exchange and debate on youth engagement in relation to the climate crisis and migrations.
  • A practical guide resulting from research work carried out in all the territories covered by the Mindchangers project, including the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, on how young people move from awareness to active engagement.

All of these achievements were promoted by a pan-European communication campaign which was unveiled in the autumn 20022 and relayed by the 9 project partners to make Mindchangers activities resonate at European level.
